Forward Deployed Software Engineer Job 2023 in UK:

International Applicants from all over the world are advised to apply for Forward Deployed Software Engineer Job 2023 in United Kingdom.

A world-changing company:

At Palantir, we’re passionate about creating software that solves problems. We partner with the world’s leading organizations to change the way we use data and technology. Our software has been used to prevent terrorist attacks, discover new drugs, gain access to global financial markets and much more. If this type of project excites you, we would love to have you join us.

The Role:

Forward deployed software engineers (FDSEs) work directly with users to quickly understand their biggest problems and develop and implement solutions to use the data against them. Our clients rely on planetarium platforms for some of their most important tasks, and projects often begin with an open question such as “Why are we delaying so many flights?” Or “How can we better identify money laundering cases?” As an FDSE, you will apply your problem-solving ability, creativity, and technical skills to help organizations use your data to make a real impact in the world. You will have the opportunity to gain rare insights and collaborate with some of the world’s most important industries and organizations.

Your responsibilities as an FDSE are like those of a startup CTO: you will work in small teams with minimal oversight and high-stack projects implemented from start to finish. Your day can be spent discussing architecture with fellow engineers, moving large amounts of data, coding custom web apps, talking to customer executives, or strategizing for your team.

Whether you want to be a business or engineering leader, we believe Palantir is the best place to learn – with the best peers. You will learn how to solve a problem and understand the costs and consequences of solving it. You will learn new technologies and languages, and develop them yourself. You will work independently and make decisions independently, within a community that will support and challenge you as you grow and develop.

Company Principles:

  • Impact: We work on meaningful and challenging projects that change the world for the better.
  • Ownership: We look at projects from start to finish, working through whatever obstacles we may encounter.
  • Collaboration: We work internally with people from a variety of backgrounds – such as other FDSEs, product teams, and deployment strategies. We also work with our customers externally, often on site, to understand and resolve their issues.
  • Confidence: We trust each other to manage time and priorities effectively and give people space to think for themselves.
  • Development: We encourage ourselves and our colleagues to explore new challenges and opportunities for growth, as well as find new ways to innovate and share knowledge.
  • Learning: We often encounter brand new problems where we need to learn to use it to acquire and develop a lot of new knowledge. We believe that experimental education is one of the best teachers.

Forward Deployed Software Engineer Job Requirements:

  • Strong engineering backgrounds are preferred in areas such as computer science, mathematics, software engineering, physics, and data science.
  • A highly analytical mindset and eagerness to solve technical problems with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
  • Experience or interest in working with and using large amounts of data to solve valuable business issues.
  • Strong codec that specializes in programming languages such as Python, Java, C ++, TypeScript / JavaScript, or the like.
  • Demonstrated the ability to effectively collaborate in teams of technical and non-technical people, and to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic goals and repetitions with customers.
  • Ability to learn continuously, work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Desire and interest to travel as needed on client sites. Ability to travel 25-50% is preferred, but requirements vary by team and location.
